How is Haga Lime Paint composed?

The lime paint consists of swamp lime, limestone flour, chalk flour, clay flour, white lime hydrate, linseed oil, titanium dioxide, and cellulose.

What is the consumption rate of Haga Lime Paint?

The consumption is: Per coat approx. 0.15-0.25 kg/m². For 2 coats approx. 0.3-0.4 kg/m².

In which packaging sizes is Haga Lime Paint available?

Haga Lime Paint is available in buckets of 15 kg, 10 kg, 5 kg, and cans of 1 kg.

What substrate requirements must be met?

All substrates must always be permanently load-bearing, stable, clean, dry, grease-free, free of efflorescence, and free of sinter layers. Suitable are mineral substrates such as lime plaster, cement plaster, lime sandstone, cement stone, aerated concrete, brick, clay stone, clay plaster, etc. Do not use directly on plastics, dispersions, etc.

How is the pre-treatment carried out?

On stable, purely mineral, and normally absorbent substrates, no pre-treatment is needed. Indoors on smooth, well-adhering old dispersion coatings as well as on Fermacell, gypsum board, pure gypsum base, prime with Haga Mineral Plaster Primer FINE. Lightly sand but still stable substrates, roll once generously with Haga Silicate Primer for consolidation. Old glossy latex, oil, and varnish coatings must be completely removed or at least etched with a caustic agent and primed with Haga Mineral Plaster Primer FINE. On facades on old dispersion coatings, prime with the highly sand-containing Haga Mineral Plaster Primer.

How is Haga Lime Paint applied?

Before use, stir very well, apply evenly generously with brush or roller, wet-on-wet, crosswise, or spray. Tinted Haga Lime Paint must not be applied with a roller, but always only with a bristle brush or brush. Do not apply below +8°C up to maximum +25°C air and wall temperature. Avoid direct sunlight and drafts during application. Paint facade in the shade. The freshly painted facade must not be exposed to weather such as driving rain, drafts, and sunlight, etc. Air humidity of max. 65% must not be exceeded during processing and the entire drying time of 2 to 3 days. Haga Lime Paint reaches its final opacity only after complete drying after approx. 2 to 3 days. Outdoors, dilute Haga Lime Paint only with Haga Lime Sinter Water.

1. Coat: Facade: Dilute up to max. 20% with lime sinter water. Interior walls: Dilute up to max. 20% with water, depending on substrate absorbency. Highly absorbent substrates: apply thinly.

2. Coat, possibly 3. Coat: Apply Haga Lime Paint weakly diluted (up to max. 10%) depending on substrate structure.

Possibly 3. Coat on heavily weathered facades or insufficient substrate coverage, etc. At least 24 hours drying time between coats. Application with powerful airless spray equipment: Dilute and sieve Haga Lime Paint before airless application. Nozzle: 0.025" – 0.031" Spray pressure: 150 – 180 bar Spray angle: 50°. When using airless equipment, observe instructions and safety advice.

How can the tools be cleaned?

Wash tools immediately after use with clean water.

What to consider for storage?

Haga Lime Paint in original container, stored cool and protected from frost, tightly closed, is shelf-stable for approx. 1 year.

Are there special notes?

The permanent moisture balance and air exchange causes positive aging and natural patina in Haga Lime Paint. Due to this hydroactive property, the quality of the lime paint becomes more weather-resistant, harder, and impact-resistant. Haga Lime Paint is highly capillary; depending on its properties, it can dry very differently depending on unevenly absorbent substrates, air humidity, temperature, processing. Especially the pigment-tinted Haga Lime Paint has the refined effect of iridescent colors. This liveliness, irregularity, clouding, partly spotty, matte as well as glossy areas on the wall surfaces is typical of the material and not a quality defect. If a homogeneous, uniform appearance is desired, the lime paint can be overcoated with Haga Equalization Paint after approx. 6 days drying time.
